
I included strength training in my half-marathon plan, but our fitness resources vary when we travel. If you’re in an apartment or hostel, there might not be the luxury of a complementary gym like a hotel might include.
If you’re like me, you had a gym membership, consistently went to a yoga studio back home and you owned a stationary bike, dumbbells, yoga mats, and fitness DVDs. If you’re like me, you will also want to pack it all in your bags as you begin your travels with expectations that your fitness plan might be interrupted when your gym is thousands of miles away. In theory, I guess we could just get a gym membership and a find a yoga studio in our final destination and still have all the home equipment that we brought from home, right?
Oh so very wrong! Why would we do that when there is so much travel fitness equipment out there? I did a little research before I left and found these great options:
Resistance Bands

Now, don’t forget about your running! If there are no running paths near your temporary location (or if you are unsure about the safety), consider looking for a gym or studio that may offer temporary passes.
